What payment methods are supported?
We support mobile money via MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money in Uganda, and M-Pesa (Safaricom) and Airtel Money in Kenya. More payment channels coming soon.
Are there any setup fees?
No setup fees. It's completely free to get started. You only pay transaction fees when you process payments.
How do the fees break down?
Deposits: MTN 4% total, Airtel 3.5% total.
Withdrawals: a flat fee per amount band plus 1% of the amount
(see the Send Payments table above), plus the 2% platform gateway fee.
The gateway fee is our platform margin. The band fee goes to the payment provider.
What do I pay for bill payments and airtime?
Each bill payment carries a flat Processing Tax of UGX 1,200 plus an Abomax Fee of 2% applied on top of the bill amount. Airtime and data carry no Processing Tax, only the Abomax Fee. You always see the full breakdown before you confirm, and anything the provider rejects is refunded to your wallet automatically.
How quickly are funds settled?
Collections are credited to your Abomax Pay wallet instantly upon payment confirmation. Payouts to mobile money wallets are processed in real time.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
No long-term contracts. Use Abomax Pay on a pay-as-you-go basis with no minimum transaction requirements.
